Celebrate Platypus Month by attending a walk with Ngunnawal elder Tyronne Bell and Waterwatch.
This year, Upper Murrumbidgee Waterwatch is delivering a morning Platypus walk at the Namarag Nature Reserve in partnership with Tyronne Bell from Thunderstone Aboriginal Cultural Services. The Ngunnawal word for Platypus is Mulanggang. Mulanggang are a significant totem for Ngunnawal and their presence indicates healthy and abundant landscapes and waterways.
The walk is about 2km return. If you have mobility issues, our other platypus walks are probably a better fit as they have easier river access.
The walk will go for around an hour and a half, you are then welcome to continue enjoying the river and keep a lookout for Platypus and Rakali. Bookings are essential.
