Have you ever seen a Brush-tailed Rock-wallaby? Not in the wild in the ACT that’s for sure!
This species was last seen in the wild in the ACT in 1959 – at Tidbinbilla. Today, it can still be seen at Tidbinbilla – behind predator proof fences where they can live their lives in safety.
Join a member of the Threatened Species Team for a walk along the Barayngu Murawung track for a chance to see these elusive animals. You will find out all about this species, why it has disappeared, and what the ACT Government is doing at Tidbinbilla to get this species back into the wild where it belongs!
This is an 800m walk with a gentle slope.
The wander will be approximately 50 minutes. Remember to wear good walking shoes, bring drinking water, dress appropriately for the weather and be sun safe.
