Birrigai at Tidbinbilla can host up to 196 overnight visitors in a combination dormitory-style and cabin accommodation.
Accommodation facilities include:
- separate teacher/group leader rooms, all with ensuites facilities;
- common rooms in each of the larger dormitories;
- a Visitors Lounge for quiet retreat;
- a unit for bus drivers.
All rooms on site are well heated and cooled.
Many of the Birrigai buildings have been designed on environmentally friendly principles. The site recycles grey water and makes use of orientation and building materials to reduce energy consumption.
The Birrigai grounds offer a number of facilities to occupy students during their free time: we have two outstanding outdoor musical instruments, a walk track which describes the local geology and the stages of the rock cycle, two outdoor amphitheatres and many places to simply stop and listen to the natural world around you.
Groups can make use of the Hall, Learning Centre or Conference Room, as part of their visit to Birrigai. Contact Birrigai at Tidbinbilla for more details.
