Tidbinbilla Open Day

The annual Tidbinbilla Open Day is on again this year with the date set for 7 October 2018.

Mark this date in your diary for a fun-filled day of nature-based experiences, kid’s activities, live music, displays, demonstrations and more - held in the greatest venue of all, the great outdoors!

The theme this year is ‘Rediscover Tidbinbilla’ where we encourage you to explore the Reserve with renewed curiosity and a fresh perspective.

Rediscover the rich Indigenous culture of Tidbinbilla through a guided experience on Ngunnawal Country.

Rediscover adventure and take the chance to explore our natural environment through immersive NaturePlay activities.

Rediscover science with a hands on experience to learn about our Threatened Species Breeding Programs.

Rediscover heritage and take a step back in time to explore the stories of the Tidbinbilla Valley and how they have shaped the reserve to what it is today.

The festivities will run from 10am – 3pm in a relaxed family friendly atmosphere with free entry to Tidbinbilla Nature Reserve all day. A full schedule will be provided closer to the event.

Wildfest at Tidbinbilla – A Wild Night Out

Kicking off during the September and October 2018 School Holidays you can experience Tidbinbilla like never before with the ultimate family sleepover at our Wildfest Pop Up Wilderness Family Camp in the park.

This is the first time ‘glamping’ tent accommodation is available at Tidbinbilla and we have created an itinerary designed for families packed with NEW day and night wildlife encounters with ACT Parks Wildlife Officers where you see animals in their natural habitat. You can also walk with Park Rangers, enjoy fire side dreamtime stories, join in our camp songs and star gazing activities after your BBQ dinner and after check out take the rest of the day to explore this wildlife sanctuary even further. The Reserve offers 16 hiking trails from Cascades Trail to Gibraltar Rock as well as a rich Aboriginal history and nearby is Canberra’s Deep Space Communication Complex – NASA Tracking Station. There is much more than you can imagine at Tidbinbilla.

Bookings can be made from Friday 28th Sept through to Sat 13th October 2018 inclusive, adult are $295 per night and kids are $195 per night. Prices are all inclusive of accommodation, food, and the amazing behind the scenes activities.
